About Me
I am a journalist and the founder, host and producer of Calgary Arabia, the first radio show in Calgary that focuses on Arab arts and cultural heritage since 2015. Calgary Arabia is now evolved into Falafel Frequencies, a 24/7 online radio station for the SWANA (South West Asian and North African) diaspora.
I am also the Re-founder and President of SOAS Radio whereas I am laying the ground work to reestablish the radio station so that it becomes an ongoing resource for the SOAS community of students and alumni.
I am a radio journalist and a writer with a passion for exploring the intersection of culture, identity and representation of SWANA people. My work focuses on amplifying underrepresented voices and challenging stereotypical narratives, particularly about the Arab world.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, a Multimedia Journalism Certificate from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, and am currently pursuing an MA in Global Media & Digital Communications from SOAS, University of London.
